I went to the University of St. Thomas and got into financial planning about five years ago. What pulled me in was the analytical side of personal finance. I like diving into the numbers and figuring out how to turn those numbers into something actionable for people.
What keeps me interested is how differently everyone thinks about money. Two clients can have similar incomes and completely different relationships with their finances. I spend a lot of time helping people visualize what they actually want their money to do for them, then we build from there. It's not about imposing some standard plan. It's about understanding how they see things and coaching them through the decisions that matter.
The best part of this work is learning what people's real goals are for their lives, then helping them get there through proper planning. That's what I focus on.
Outside of work, I'm outdoors as much as possible. My dog Otis comes with me most places. Golf, hiking, and hunting. I just like being outside.
